Modules Constructor

Canvas and actions

How to build a module's scenario on the Modules Constructor canvas: add an action, configure its parameters, insert variables and resources, reorder, copy, disable and find an action.

A scenario is a chain of actions that run top to bottom. The canvas always shows one function; the module's main function is called Main.

Add an action

  • Drag an action from the Actions panel onto the canvas — into the "Drag an action here" zone or between cards. To put an action inside a condition or loop, drop it into the zone of the right branch.
  • Double-clicking an action in the panel adds it to the end of the function.
  • Quick actions grid (Ctrl+K) — find an action by name and add it without expanding the modules.

The action's window with its parameters opens right away: the main ones come first, optional ones are in the additional section. The action appears in the scenario after you save the window.

Action card

The card shows the name, the filled-in parameters and the result variable — the Output Variable. At the bottom is the action's short ID: it is how the action is found in the log and in search. At the top right:

  • the circle — the test point: the test starts from this action;
  • ⋮ — the action menu.

A click selects the card, a double-click (or E while the cursor is over the card) opens the parameters.

Values in parameters

Any text field of an action can take:

NotationWhat is inserted
[[name]]The value of a variable
[[user]].profile.idAn object field or array element from a variable
{{name}}The value of a resource — a field the module's user filled in

Insertions are highlighted on the card, so they are easy to tell apart from plain text.

With several cards selected, you can copy, delete or move them at once. Any change can be undone — Ctrl+Z.

Conditions and loops

The IF, WHILE, FOR, FOREACH and Try-Catch blocks contain nested actions: IF has two branches — THEN and ELSE, Try-Catch has TRY and CATCH. A block collapses with the arrow in its header. Details in Conditions, loops and errors.

Searching the scenario

Search actions in the top bar searches all functions: by action ID, name, parameter value, notes and code. The arrows move between matches, and the canvas scrolls to the found card by itself.

Zoom

The + and − buttons at the bottom of the canvas change the zoom, Reset View returns to the start of the function. The canvas moves with the mouse.
