Texts and templates

How Multogram builds the text of messages, comments and posts: text types (static, list, dynamic, AI, forwarded, templates), the visual editor with formatting and attachments, message templates, generation templates and spintax, keyword fields.

Modes that write something take their text from one of several sources — text types. The type is chosen with a switch on the mode tab, and each type brings up its own field. This page explains all the types, the visual editor, templates and the text generation rules.

Text types

TypeWhat is sentMediaWhere it is available
StaticThe same message from the visual editorYesMailer, Comment Bot, Message Editor
ListA random variant from a list — one per lineNoMailer, Comment Bot, Message Editor
DynamicText from a generation template: a new combination every timeNoMailer, Comment Bot, Message Editor
AIText written by an AI model from your promptNoMailer, Comment Bot, Message Editor, Auto Reply, Content Bot
ForwardedA ready message is forwarded with a link to its authorAs in the originalMailer
TemplatesA saved message templateYesMailer, Comment Bot

How to choose. You need one text with a picture — Static. You need the messages to differ from each other — List, Dynamic or AI. Telegram notices identical texts from many accounts faster, so variety is better for mass work.

List

Each line is a separate variant. A random line is taken for each send.

list example
Hi! Saw your post, really on point.
Thanks for the material, saved it.
Great selection, looking forward to more!

The more variants, the fewer repeats. 10–20 lines is a good start.

Dynamic

The text is written as a generation template: curly braces with variants separated by | give a random variant on every send. One template yields hundreds of different messages.

dynamic template example
{Hi|Hello|Good afternoon}! {Saw|Noticed} your {channel|project} — {very interesting|nicely done}.

The full rules are below, in Generation templates.

AI

The AI prompt field holds the instruction for the model, and the model composes a text for each send. By default Multogram AI writes it, from the plan's AI credits; another provider and its key are set once on the AI tab — see AI in Multogram.

Forwarded

Only in Mailer. The Messages to forward field takes links to posts, one per line, for example https://t.me/channel/123. The message is forwarded whole, with a "Forwarded from…" label. If copying is restricted in the source channel, the post can't be forwarded.

Visual editor

The Static and Templates types use the visual editor — like the Telegram input field, but with a toolbar.

Formatting: Bold, Italic, Underline, Strikethrough, Spoiler, Inline code, Code block, Quote, Link, Emoji, Clear formatting.

Attachments: Insert image (photos and videos), Attach file, Voice message, Video message (round video).

RuleExplanation
Up to 10 attachments in one messagePhotos and videos go as an album, and the text becomes the caption
Voice and round video — one at a timeAnd they can't be mixed with other attachments

Rich message tools unlock headings, lists, tables, dividers, color highlighting, superscript and subscript and Import Markdown. Such messages are sent as Telegram's rich messages. If it matters that the message looks the same for every recipient, stick to regular formatting.

Telegram preview shows how the message will look to the recipient. The Refresh preview button redraws it after edits.

Telegram length limits

The text of one message is up to 4096 characters, a media caption up to 1024 characters. Telegram rejects longer text with a "Message too long" error.

Message templates

A template is a saved message with formatting and attachments. You create it once and use it in different modes.

  • Create and edit — the Templates button on the visual editor's toolbar opens the template manager: view, create, edit and delete.
  • Load into the message — in the manager every template has a load action: the template is put into the editor. This is how a template works with the Static type in any mode with an editor.
  • The Templates type — in Mailer and Comment Bot the Select templates button picks saved templates to send. You can pick several: each send takes a random one of the selected — with its text and attachments.

Templates are stored on this computer and shared by all modes. If no template is selected for the Templates type, the task log shows a warning and the message is not sent.

Generation templates

A generation template expands into a new line each time it is used. This is how the Dynamic type works in Mailer, Comment Bot and Message Editor, and how usernames are generated in mass actions. Titles and usernames in Entity Creator and the 2FA password in Auto Registration understand the same tokens with small differences — they are described on the mode pages. In Profile Customizer the first name, last name, bio and username templates are expanded for each account separately.

Variants — {variant1|variant2|variant3}: one random variant is taken. Braces without | stay plain text.

Tokens in angle brackets are replaced with a random or current value:

TokenWhat it expands into
<LowerLetter>A lowercase Latin letter
<UpperLetter>An uppercase Latin letter
<Letter>Any Latin letter
<Digit>A digit 0–9
<Number>A digit 1–9
<Symbol>A special character: ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) - _ = + . , ?
<Hex>A hexadecimal digit 0–9, a–f
<Random>A letter or a digit
<UUID>A unique identifier
<Timestamp>The current time in seconds
<Date>, <Time>, <DateTime>The current date, time, date and time

Variants are chosen first, then tokens are replaced, so you can write tokens inside a variant too: {user<Digit><Digit>|guest}. An unknown token stays in the text as it is — so a typo is easy to spot.

examples
{Hi|Hey}, this is <UpperLetter><LowerLetter><LowerLetter>! → "Hey, this is Kpq!"
news_<LowerLetter><LowerLetter><Digit><Digit><Digit> → "news_tk482"
<UpperLetter><LowerLetter><LowerLetter><LowerLetter><Digit><Digit><Symbol> → "Rqmd47!"

Keyword fields

The Keywords fields in Parsing, Channel Clonner and Content Bot are a list of "tags". Type a word and press Enter, or paste the whole list at once. Double-click a tag to edit it. The field's menu offers Load from file, Save to file, Sort A–Z and Clear all.

Common questions

Can I insert the recipient's name into the text?

No. Generation templates insert only variants and the tokens from the table above. To address each person differently, use the AI type with a prompt or a large List of variants.

Why wasn't the photo sent with the List or Dynamic type?

These types send text only. For a message with media, use Static or Templates.

Are templates kept when I reinstall?

Templates are stored in the application's data folder on this computer. A reinstall that doesn't delete the data keeps them; on another computer they have to be created again.

Why did curly braces appear in the message as they are?

There is no | separator inside the braces. A generation template picks a variant only if there are at least two variants: {yes|no}. Braces with a single word — {yes} — stay text.
