Messenger

The Messenger is Multogram's built-in Telegram client for manual work. It keeps several accounts open at once and lets you chat from any of them without leaving the application. Modes handle volume on a schedule, while the messenger handles what needs a real person: replying to a client, checking an account, looking through conversations.

The messenger is available on any plan, including Free.

How to open it

On the Accounts tab, click the globe icon in the row of the account you need. A separate messenger window opens with this account. Clicking the globe of another account adds it to the same window — a second window doesn't open.

Opening an account is a sign-in to Telegram, so its result goes into the Status column: if the session doesn't work, you'll see it in the table.

Account pool

• Several sessions work in parallel. Each account has its own connection, its own session file and its own proxy.
• Switching takes one click. Click an avatar in the left column: the conversation list and the chat change, while the other accounts stay online.
• The pool grows as you work. Opening a new account doesn't close the previous ones — they are added to the column.
• Notes per account. A session's card has a notes field: what the account is for and what was done with it.

The left column shows only running accounts. The full list is on the account selection screen — the Switch or add account button at the bottom of the column.

Choosing a card starts the session and opens it. Accounts that are already running are not stopped.

Add an account right in the messenger

Account selection screen → Add account. You need a session file (.session) and API data (.json). The name and notes are optional. The proxy is turned on with a separate switch: SOCKS5, HTTP or MTProxy, with a login and password or with a secret.

The messenger does not sign in to accounts by phone number and code — only ready sessions work. You can sign in by number on the Accounts tab (Add Account → Manual), and other session formats are converted by the Converter.

Conversations

• Telegram folders are picked up as they are. Above the list are tabs for the account's folders, All Chats and Archived.
• Conversations load in batches of 30 as you scroll. The counter under the list counts only the loaded part.
• Search. A short query filters the loaded conversations; from three characters or with @, Telegram search kicks in with Chats and Contacts and Messages sections.
• Search inside a chat (the magnifier in the header) — by type: all, photos, videos, files, links, voice, music, with a jump to the found message.
• Messages are marked read by themselves when an unread message appears on the screen of an open chat.

Reading without the read mark

A long press on a conversation row opens a floating preview window. You can move and resize it; you can't write in it, and messages are not marked as read. It is handy for quickly checking incoming messages without giving away your presence. Only one such window is open at a time.

Chatting

Attachments. Up to 10 files in one album; one message holds files of one category. An audio file can be sent as voice, a video as a round video (a round video never has a caption). There is no microphone recording: a voice message is sent as a ready file.

The messenger shows stickers, GIFs from the panel, polls, locations and contacts in incoming messages, but does not send them.

Account profile and privacy

Right-click an avatar in the column → Edit Profile:

• Profile — photo, first name, last name, username with an availability check, Bio (up to 70 characters).
• Privacy — phone number, last seen, profile photo, bio, birthday, message forwarding, group invites, calls and voice messages. Each item has Everybody, My contacts, Nobody.

This edits one account. For many accounts at once there are mass actions and the Profile Customizer and Privacy Settings modes.

What the messenger doesn't do

The messenger reads and writes, but does not automate:

• it doesn't send one message to many chats — that's Mailer;
• it doesn't answer incoming messages by itself — that's Auto Reply;
• it doesn't show a combined conversation list of all accounts or a combined unread counter;
• new messages arrive in real time only for the active account — for the others they load when you switch to them.

Drafts are not kept when you move between chats, and there is no "typing…" indicator. Removing a session from the messenger removes only the entry in its list — the .session file stays on disk.

Common questions

Why doesn't the left column show all accounts?

The column holds only running accounts. The rest are on the account selection screen — the Switch or add account button.

Can I chat from an account that has a task running on it?

Better not. If the same session works in a task and in the messenger at the same time, Telegram may consider it suspicious and reset the session. Open the account in the messenger once the task on it is finished.

Why does it say "Flood protection, wait N seconds"?

Telegram has limited the account's request rate — most often because of fast switching between accounts. Wait for the given time.

How many accounts can I open at once?

There is no limit. Each open account keeps its own connection, so with dozens of accounts the messenger loads the computer and the network more noticeably.
