Tasks and modes
Common questions about how Multogram modes work: how to run a mode, how many threads to set, why a task doesn't start or did less, where the log is, how the schedule works, texts and AI, FloodWait and spam block, modules.
How do I run a mode?
Fill in the mode tab and click Run task at the bottom. In the window, pick the accounts, threads and start time. See Tasks.
Why doesn't a task start?
Required fields aren't filled in, no accounts are selected, the mode isn't in the plan, or there is no connection to the server. The reason is written on the task card. See Troubleshooting.
How many threads should I set?
For a first run — 1–3. There can't be more threads than selected accounts; some modes always have one thread. See Accounts and threads.
Do settings changes affect a running task?
No. A task reads the settings at the moment it starts. To apply new ones, restart it.
Where do I see what a task is doing?
In the monitor: click the task card or Performance. It shows the log, threads and statistics. Besides that, each task writes its log to a text file in the Logs Folder — see Task log file.
Are errors in the log a breakdown?
Usually not: an error on one target doesn't stop the task. Look at the share of errors. Explanations — Errors and messages.
How do I schedule a task?
In the task window, When to start → On schedule, and pick the date and time. If the application was closed at that time, the task starts the next time it is opened.
How do I make a task stop by itself?
Fill in Stop after (min) in the task window.
Do tasks run while the application is closed?
No, tasks run inside the application. Close it, and the running tasks stop.
Why did Mailer send fewer messages than there are recipients?
Each recipient gets one message: the accounts take targets from the shared list in turn until it
runs out. There are fewer if some recipients refused (privacy, a wrong @username) or the
accounts stopped before the list ran out. See Mailer.
How do I make messages different?
The List, Dynamic (spintax) or AI text types. See Texts and templates.
What is spintax?
Variants in curly braces separated by a vertical bar, for example {Hi|Hello}: one is picked
at sending.
Where is AI for texts set up?
On the AI tab: provider, model and key. The fields appear when the AI text type is selected in a mode. See AI in Multogram.
What is FloodWait?
A temporary Telegram ban on actions: "wait N seconds". It appears when an account acts too often. Increase the delays and reduce the volume. What the account does then — stop or wait it out — is decided by the Pause account on FloodWait setting. See Telegram limits.
What is a spam block, and how do I check for it?
A restriction on messages to strangers. Check with the Check restrictions mass action.
What are modules?
Additional modes in .agm files with their own settings. They are installed on the Modules tab and
created in the Modules Constructor. See Modules.
How do I save mode settings that worked?
To a preset: Settings → Presets → Save current values. See Settings.
